Marc,
What about considering double-stick tape? You may need to use a
foam-type if the surfaces are slightly irregular. 3M in Minneapolis
makes literally thousands of types of double stick. Norton company makes
a handful that are used in construction and mobile homes. Some of these
tapes are so strong that you may only need a piece in each corner.
Granted, these are on foam, but the volume of the foam is really, really
small. I have called 3M in the past (sorry, I don't have their number)
and spoke to an engineer who sent me several samples for the application
I was considering.
