GBlist: alternatives to Dursban

I am looking for an effective termite control which does not have the
potential health hazards of chlorpyrifos based products, such as Dursban.

I am living in a house which we are contracted to purchase. Termite
inspection revealed a small amount of termite damage. In order to certify
the house as termite free (and make the bank happy), it must be treated
for termites.

I have some chemical sensitivities and allergies and am concerned about
exposure to Dursban, which is what the pest control folks are recommending.
I've done some research onthe Sentricon system, but I don't think the
seller will go for a treatment that costs 3 to 4 times as much as
conventional treatment. I've seen a reference in E-magazine to BioBlast,
a fungal parasite for termites, but haven't been able to find any further
informatino on the product. Please let me know if you have any info on
this or other alternative treatments. The Dursban folks are scheduled to
do the treatment on 3/19!

Thanks,

Linda Felch
