Hello GBListers.

We received this query recently, and would very much appreciate any input
you can provide. I hope we can help fumigate the fumigation!

How can one get rid of the chemical compound (heavy vapor) from a house
that was exposed to Napthalene?

My mother cannot live in her house because the odor/vapor is in her
clothing (which she washed several times & even drycleaned some), it's in
her furniture, the house itself is odorful.

She can taste a chemical taste in her mouth, and her tongue, throat and
nose burn from the 'chemical'. She has thrown away her couch, her chair
cushions, her rugs, and curtains. Needless to say, she cannot live there,
but won't be able to buy new furniture etc, because she fears the smell
will just permeate the new stuff.

She's tried heat and exhaust fans to rid the odor but that didn't help.

Her cat won't eat in the house anymore and seems to have lost a good deal
of weight.

Any help would be appreciated on this. Thanks!
