Hello, My name is Tim McCarthy, I am new to the group, I am excited to found it!

I have developed a interesting slipform stone wall building technique, using
a shallow frost protected foundation, reused scrap stress skin panels,
tapered wall ect. (http://www.slic.com/~barkeatr)

I do understand that the biggest weak point of slipforming is the use of
(portland cement)and its very high embodied energy. I would like to see
comparisons of the embodied energy verses strength, durability, maintainance
costs and overall lifetime. I do believe portland cement would look better
in this comparision. Does anyone know of such a study? or have ideas on the
subject?

Also, I would like to know of any alternatives to portland cement, ideas on
mixing proportions, or other ideas on lessening the embodied energy impact?

Thanks in advance
