Re: GBlist: IAQ
Marilyn.
you quoted: "The product shall not emit formaldehyde which will result in an
IA
concentration of greater than 0.5mg/m3 etc (exactly the same from
there on)"
The World Health Organisation reports a threshold of irritation for airborn
formaldehyde as 0.1mg/m3 , with symptoms of eye & throat irritation at
levels between 0.3 and 1.0 mg/m3.
(WHO Regional Office for Europe Reports, Series No 23, Copenhagen. 1987)
Formaldehyde has been classified as "possibly causing cancer " by the
International Agency for Research on Cancer.
Well, at least your people are addressing the issue..........
I'd be interested to know if others on the list have info on the proposed
levels for the VOC's (I don't ! )
