Re: GBlist: How much insulation to put in roof & in floor? -Reply




I now have to choose what type of insulation to use. 

I lean toward these materials [indoor air quality in not a worry for me
with fiberglass]:

Conventional fiberglass batts (unfaced w. poly barrier or kraft-faced)
Dow Corning MiraFlex
Dow Corning Pink Plus Polywrapped

But these are worth considering:

Cotton batts (unfaced w. poly barrier or kraft-faced)
Blown cellulose w. reinforced poly barrier

Are there substantial reasons to use cellulose or cotton? What about the
durability of these materials?
