GBlist: water usage

for their input on the residential water usage question. 

The General consensus seems to be that-  it depends. Where you live seems 
to matter. Arid regions use more (up to 270 gal/person/day) while those 
living in Boston, where they have to pay more for their water, use 
substantially less.

The average seems to be somewhere between 80 and 110 gallons per person 
per day.  That's alot of water!

Our household averages 100 gallons per day, for two adults and one young 
child (33 gal ea).  Ithought maybe my meter was broke... until I read the 
Nat'l averages. We use 1.6 gal toilets, low flow shower heads (average 6 
showers total per week), and an Asko washer. We don't water our yard at 
all. We collect rain water for our gardens. 

Sure seems tough to bring that number down!
