This is one way to solve the FR-465 battery problem
It's not pretty, but it would work for a situation
where you needed extended talk time.
This is the front view of the modified FR-465
The 5 AA cordless phone NiCd pack is temporarily
mounted to the radio with nylon straps.
If you were to mount this permanently, you
would want to solder the power wires to the inside
of the unit and use the jack to recharge the
battery pack. You would also want to seal the
back so that dust and moisture couldn't get
in.
