On March 3 and 4, 1994, the World Intellectual Property Organization jointly organized with the American Arbitration Association an international forum on the arbitration of intellectual property disputes. The proceedings of the Forum, at which papers were presented by 15 leading experts, are now available in a bound volume. The papers contained in the volume cover a general overview of mediation, arbitration and other dispute resolution alternatives; the arbitrability of intellectual property disputes; drafting dispute-resolution clauses; the selection of arbitrators; the arbitration of intellectual property disputes; the management of arbitration proceedings; awards and their enforcements; mediation; and the WIPO Arbitration Center and its services. It has 112 pages and is presented in the form of separate chapters for each country. In addition to information concerning membership in WIPO treaties, each chapter summarizes the major provisions of industrial property laws, including provisions concerning the confirmation of applications filed and rights granted in predecessor states.
