Kappa Psi is a coed professional fraternity located at Finley Golf Course which is just down the road from UNC Pharmacy School. The Kappa Psi Fraternity House is the third house on the right from Highway 54 away from the pharmacy school. The house is a three-level house which is beautifully furnished. We also have a full time cook, Jim, which makes living in the house that much better. Kappa Psi (Beta Xi Chapter) consists of 43 brothers and is currently still growing strong. We have rush in both the Fall and Spring semesters and it ends around the 14th week in the semester just before finals begin. The most recent pledge class, Spring '96, was small, however consisted of quite a different group of people. There were six pledges, but each one has definitely contributed in their own unique way to Kappa Psi. Kappa Psi holds a range of different events each semester. Of course, we have the social events, but Kappa Psi is trying to promote professionalism throughout the community and the pharmacy school. A major event we try to hold once or twice a semester is the Health Fair. It is held at local malls on the weekend. It allows the brothers to practice their profession as well as help the community by testing for diabetes, high blood pressure, and other parameters of this sort. We also participate in events such as "Volunteers for Youth" and other activities similar to these.
Kappa Psi (Beta Xi Chapter) is dedicated to improving the pharmacy profession now and in the future. The brothers hold various leadership roles in the different student organizations at the pharmacy school which allows us to help the Chapel Hill community along with the UNC Pharmacy School. Kappa Psi continues to demonstrate professionalism and leadership among their fellow classmates, as well as the public.
Here the pledge class of Spring '96 pause for a moment to take a group shot. Each one has already began dedicating their time and selves to Kappa Psi to help us grow stronger each day.
