Seems like a dirty tube socket. Some wd40 fixed that in a jiffy. The 250 kc cw filter works great, but it sure needs a noise limiter in the audio. Have one on my regen and it sort of acts like a agc curcuit. I clip everything above .8v going to audio out grid so if a cw sig drops I do not hear much change as most sigs are above that level, but it sure get rid of a lot of garbage in the audio. Am going to put one in the audio of the hw 16 but make the clip level adjustable. Had one weak tube and replaced it a 6ea8 have not tried ther xmtr yet, but will this weekend. who knows I might even work you all on 7040-7050 t THANK THE LORD FOR ALL YOU HAVE 68 yr old semidisabled senior (stroke got my balance & hand to eye coordination) ham agn as KF4RCL TECK+ (MUCH HAPPINESS) BUILD MOST OF MY STATION EQUIP SUB.BA & GB-- NO SOLID STATE Leon B Wiltsey (Lee) 4600 Lake Haven BLVD. Forgive me if this information has been posted before, but is there a Hammarlund reflector, and how would I sign up? Thanks, Steve Pituch, N2MNN, NNJ n2mnn@openix.com
Date: Sat, 5 Jul 1997 21:16:27 -0700 (MST) From: Jack Meadows <jackmead@getnet.com> Subject: 35 watt one tuber Hi gang, I just had a nice time building a one tube osc. transmitter using a 6DQ6B tube. It worked right off! No mistakes...first time for me, ha! Just finished my first qso with it on 7050 Khz and the tone is fine. No clicks or chirp. I am getting 35 watts output! If anyone would like the schematic, I'll scan it and send it to you email. It occurred to me that if I moved the screen grid resistor from pin 4 over to pin 3, I could try a 6146B tube without any other changes. I may try it after a few more qso's. I'll have this lil glowbug on 7050 and hope to see you there. Jack W7QQQ Mesa, AZ

The list is run off a donor machine and a donor internet connection and we are still working out bugs. Now. Some swapsies in the event anyone is reading this. Picked up an Icon R70 general coverage SS (but vintage SS being of '83 birth) at the fle today and am interested in swapping for a glowing RX to go along with valve based HB TX stuff. Already have a HBR16 but have been hankering to play with a HRO 50 or 60. Non working, highly modified, 'one of a kind ' but not in the estate building collector sense all have appeal. For QRO types have an unused 4-1000. socket, and fil trans to swap too. Last of all, 10MHz is hot. Anyone running thermionic ethersnatchers on 30m? - -bob wb4mnf
