Hint, folks,.... that is a classic old fashinoned ftp site. Do a standard Olefashioned ftp to piobaire.mines.uidaho.edu, cd pub, dir and see what is returned. Anytime a url pointer in a webscraper fails on an ftp, go up one directory level or two and try there. Webscrapers are too picky.....(:+{{..... my typeos..... Bob/NA4G

One can add a small dial lamp in series with the xtal, like a 6.3 v 150ma bulb or such, and watch it glow. If it glows TOO brightly, the xtal can fracture. That circuit would probably crack the usual tv rock on 3579, but would probably hold and FT-241 if you used the lamp to tame it down somewhat, else use the big R1 or FT-171 sized rocks. Bob/NA4G

Things are fine on 80M tho. I was aboard Saturday night, from 0000 to 0400, again, on the hours. I heard ole Conard with his T4 emitting a nice lusty tone, and Sandy with good strength, as usual. There were some others there, off and on, but I was unable to work anyone. I will have to restring the antenna here, this afternoon, perhaps. Bob/NA4G
