John: Wes Hayward describes filter design using the x.exe program in an
article in the June 1995 issue of QEX. The article indicates that this
program is available as part of the software package that comes with the
ARRL publication "Intro to RF Design". January 95 QEX has an article by
Jacob Makhinson, N6NWP, on his experiences with the programs in this
package. Both articles are reprinted in the ARRL's recent book, "QRP
Power". Good luck!

Subject: Nichrome wire
Hi gang,
The parasitic suppressor that I'm making calls for
18 gauge nichrome-60 wire. I called all over Phoenix
and looked in ALL my catalogs...Mouser doesn't even have it! wheew
I had no idea this would be such a challenge.
Anyone have a couple feet of 18 gauge nichrome-60 wire that
you could part with?
Best regards,
Jack W7QQQ

Subject: Another St. Louis MO Haunt
On the last trip to St. Louis, I had time to visit another good BA/Military
place. It was called
The Electronics Exchange Inc.
8644 St. Charles Rock Road
St. Louis, MO 63114
www.electronics-exchange.com/
314-426-3056, fax 314-426-4848
The have very little in the way of complete radios etc. but they do have a
large supply of components. They had lots of tubes, mostly 6 and 12 volt
types, but didn't see any special types or military types. They had lots of
connectors, fuse holders, ICs, computer parts, terminal boards and some of
the largest powerstats I have ever seen. These powerstats had steering
wheels for adjustment knobs and must have weighed 100s of pounds each. They
also have power supplies, caps, resistors and probably a lot more I didn't
get to see due to my short time there. The two gentlemen in the store were
of little help and one was pretty hard to talk to, but it was the end of the
day and maybe they were tired. I will definitely add this store to my stops
in St. Louis.
Good BA hunting and 73s,

Subject: Just got my ham radio page together...
Hello all,
Sorry for the 'group broadcast', but I just wanted to put
the word out I got my first ham radio page together, with
lots of pix of Drake, Collins, Heath, and other such rigs
of the past.
Take a look, and let me know what you think. I apologize
for any blatant errors - it's a 'work in progress'.
Also, I list an email address of 'dx40@juno.com'. I did this
as a spam dodge. Now the spambots will pick up my 'lesser'
email address, and keep this one free of garbage (I post to
newsgroups with the Juno address as well). So if you want,
you can just reply to my 'normal' email address of nyet@ix.netcom.com.
Thanks to all and 73,
