Hinds To: sanet-mg@ces.ncsu.edu Subject: Bio-control methods or agents effective against any of the following pineapple pests & diseases [ The following text is in the "ISO-8859-4" character set. ] [ Your display is set for the "US-ASCII" character set. ] [ Some characters may be displayed incorrectly. ] Hello, Does anyone out there worked with or have any reliable information regarding bio-control methods or agents effective against or good for restricting damage by: (Ants) - Solenopsis geminata Fabr and Conomyrma sp (they both bring in the mealybugs) (Mealybug - Homóptera) - Dysmicoccus brevipes CKL or Pseudococcus brevipes (which is a vector for a virus) (Spider mite) - Dolichotetranychus floridanus (No english common name given - Lepidoptera) - Thecla basilides or Thecla echion (a tropical fruit worm) (White termite - Isoptera) Gnathamitermes tubidormans (White grub - Coleoptera) - Phyllophaga spp. (common boring grub) (No english common name given - Coleoptera) - Metamasius callizona (these black larvas attack the whole plant including the fruit, constructing galleries within them) (No english common name given - Sinphylla) - Hanseniella ivorensis (small while organisms that attack roots) (Nematodes of the genus') - Pratylenchus, Helicotylenchus, Tilenchorhynchus, Meloidogyne, Criconemoides, Aphelenchus, Radopholus, Tilenchus, Psilenchus y Hoploloimus (above all the first four) (Fungus' ) - Phytophthora parasítica Dast, P. cinnammomi, P. cithophthora, P. parasítica var. nicotianae y Pythium polimorphun (Bacteria) - Erwinia aananas I already do have some information on hand but want to compare it with the experience and knowledge of others.
