From rfell@vt.edu Date: Thu, 13 Oct 1994 15:47:41 -0400 From: Rick Fell To: ipm-mg@twosocks.ces.ncsu.edu Subject: ipmscouting Having recently completed my degree for which I studied house fly control using Hydrotaea aenescens in cage-layer houses, I am not aware of any formal IPM scouting/monitoring programs. Maxie Nolan, Jr. has been doing consulting work (I believe in South Carolina) on pest management in cage-layer houses. I don't know whether he is still doing it but it might be worth giving him a call. I do not have his number off hand but I'm sure that he is in the ESA directory. If you have trouble locating it I can dig a little deeper around here. I have recently moved my office off campus and have not unpacked everything yet. I think that a scouting and monitoring program will be very useful. It is my experience that many producers are eager to adopt IPM programs however the committment to such programs varies among producers. If I can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to call 703-231-9126 Sincerely, Peri L.
