This directory contains files from COGSnet BBS, and others that seem to be of interest to earth scientists. The Computer Oriented Geological Society (COGS) is an international professional society for geologists who use (or want to use) computers in their work. Each subdirectory under COGS/ contains files related to the subject of the directory name. At the top of each listing the file '00-index.txt' provides a listing and short explanation of the files in each directory. Files with a .ZIP or .ARC extension are compressed, and you will need a utility like PKZIP or PKARC to unpack them. Files with the extension of .SIT are Macintosh Stuffit archives, and those with a .PIT extension are in Macintosh Packit format. Most of the PC files have been scanned for viruses, but not the Macintosh files. (If someone wants to volunteer their Mac and time, we'd appreciate it!) In any case, neither COGS nor Colorado SuperNet will be help responsible in any way for any problems you may have from files you get here. Questions and comments can be emailed to Bill Thoen at btheon@csn.org. You can also reach COGSnet directly at (303) 740-9493 anytime. Set baud rate to 300, 1200, or 2400, and protocol is 8 data bits, no parity, and one stop bit. The COGS offices are open from 9:00 AM to noon weekdays, and the address and phone number is: Computer Oriented Geological Society P.O.
