Treat your group to a unique outing at Iowa's only presidential museum. A recent expansion of the Hoover Presidential Museum enables visitors to experience the life and times of Iowa's only president.

Your tour begins in the rotunda, where a 16 foot red granite map of the world spotlights the 57 nations where Herbert Hoover fed people during his long career of public service.

Move on to exciting displays of the Australian Outback, China at the turn of the century, a Belgian relief warehouse during the first World War, the Inaugural Platform on March 4, 1929 and ever changing exhibits in the large temporary gallery.

In the park you will find the two-room cottage where Herbert Hoover was born in 1874. This National Historic Landmark is surrounded by buildings that recreate young Hoover's neighborhood.

Tours: Guided tours are offered to groups of 15 or more. Please phone ahead to make reservations. Self guided groups are always welcome.

  
Fees/Admission: Admission for adults (16-61) is $2~ for senior citizens (62 and over) it is $1, and children (under 16) are free. Information on fees for after hours events is available upon request.

  
Hours: The Museum is open from 9-5 daily except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. For after hours events, special arrangements must be made ahead of time.

Clubs/Parties/Meetings: The Museum has conference rooms that can accommodate up to 50 people and other rooms for club meetings and catered parties.

Catered Functions: we will be pleased to work with your group to plan a catered meal, party or reception.

Auditorium: The Museum has a newly remodeled auditorium that can seat 180 people.

Museum Graft Shop: The Museum gift shop has unique souvenirs for the history buff as well as many Christmas ornaments and Iowa souvenirs.

The Hoover Presidential Library Museum and the Hoover Birthplace Cottage lie within the 186-acre Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, located in West Branch, 10 miles east of Iowa City, just off Interstate 80 at Exit 254.
