A GUIDE TO THE EXHIBIT GALLERIES

[]What follows is an edited version of the major captions that appear in the main galleries of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library. The captions were written by Richard Norton Smith, Library Director from 1988 to 1993, as part of a full scale renovation of the museum galleries in 1991-92. The captions were revised and edited by Timothy Walch, the former assistant director and now director of the Library, and Maureen Harding, the curator of exhibits at the Library.

The museum is open to the public everyday from nine in the morning until five in the afternoon except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Admission for those under 16 years is free; from 16 to 61 years the price is $2; and over 61 years, $1. The museum is located in West Branch, Iowa, just off Interstate 80 at Exit 254.
