Subj: translation of messages

If race 'A' wishes to communicate, they must use the same symbol to represent the the same data. We will always spell "one" as o-n-e. if this signal were to be sent by satellite, and part of it escape into space, and it were picked up one thousand years from now by another race, then they could not translate it, but they could say "oh look, here is that same pattern again " thus when your race of light talkers convert thier symbols into radio waves, and then we pick them up, when they say one, we translate that as 'B' (or whatever) it doesn't matter what method is used for the translation into radio, it only matters that they be consistant
