I didn't read the first part of the proyect, Sorry  ;)

By the way I've read the documents maintained by Michel K.
Neylon and I think that the content, grammar and data of the
messages are very "human-like".
For example: It contains the number pi (even in its base6 
form) but thats the relationship of the perimeter of a
circulus into its diameter, but other races (or kind of
inteligence) could define as the relationship of the area
of a circulus into the area of the square that contents it.
Other things make the interpretation of the data inconsistent
such as thinking that the only inhabitable planet is the
first one and in a later message y says (or we think) that
the are others planets with life.
