I concur with Mike Neylon on the set theory portion of Message 5.
I am less sure about his interpretation of the remainder.  Part of
the problem is that the phrase G S 1 v ~ v 1 S G does not mean "1 is
not less than or equal to '~'"; the tone 'v' glosses as "greater than
or equal to," so the pair of phrases seem to translate as follows:

G R 1 v ~ v 1 R G :: "1 > ~" is true
G S 1 v ~ v 1 R G :: "1 >= ~" is false

Unless this is a transcription error and the 'v' in the second line
should be a 'u' -- a possibility I will not discount.

One possible gloss on the last phrase (G QAQ P ~Q~ P QAQ G) is that
the '~' signifies absence, or nothing.  So "0 is the absence of
number."  Then if the t/v pair is correct, "'1' is more than nothing,
but '1' is not more than or equal to nothing."  (I'm still not
happy with this, but maybe someone else will figure it out from here.)

I don't know.  It looked to me as if 'w' meant "alive" or "living,"
which gave:

   We are alive.
   A '1y' is not alive.  (Read '1y' as world or planet.)
   A 'xz' is not alive.  (Read 'xz' as sun or star.)
   Alive things are part of everything/infinity.
   Not-alive things are part of everything/infinity.
   A 'wy' is a '1y'.  (May refer to an inhabited world.)
   A 'zy' is a '1y'.  (May refer to an uninhabited world.)

I still kind of like this translation, but I admit it doesn't help
much as regards the use of '1' in the phrase 'G * P 11$11 P * G'.

Note that if we assume that 'wy' means inhabited world, then the
TCs have told us that they live on the first planet out from their
sun (the tiny planet nearest the giant 'xz' in the picture, which
was the only size given for 'wy').
