CEARCH is an erstwhile digital library but does not perform searches for topic materials. We highly recommend using either Altavista (http://www.altavista.digital.com/) or Lycos (http://www.lycos.com/) for searches of web- or USENET-based information. Should you come across any websites which are appropriate resources for said topic, please send them to the CEARCH archivists so we may better expand our site to suit fellow educators' needs.

Take a look at our Network Operations Center - casually referred to as the Schoolhouse NOC!. Here you will find information arranged according to question and topic - anything and everything dealing with bring the Internet to your classroom or school.

CEARCH, while sponsored by Cisco Systems and housed on metalab, does not offer information or support for Cisco products. You can, however, find all the information you need on Cisco's products and services on Cisco's home page.

On our mailform and comments page we have fill-in boxes for links you think would be appropriate for the CEARCH archivists to investigate and add to the Archives. We request that you fill out all informational boxes provided so we can match your link with the section it fits most. CEARCH is an archival service only. We do not perform searches, find schools, contact long-lost teachers, &c. However, we can point you to major search engines and directories, which will enable you to better gather the proper data you seek:
The following search engines contain thousands of documents, indexed and ready to search: Altavista, by Digital Inc., Lycos, or eXcite.
The American School Directory (http://www.asd.com/) has created a web site for nearly all of the K-12 schools in the United States. There is an archive of Finnish schools on the 'net (http://www.wakkanet.fi/school/schoolen.html - in English) and of Australian schools (http://www.dominic.tas.edu.au/SchoolsDir/). A very comprehensive list for schools in the U.K. can be found on EduWeb, at (http://www.rmplc.co.uk/meeting/ewdir.html). As for school directories for other nations/continents, if you should come across anything in your web travels, please send it on to us at cearch@metalab.unc.edu .
