POSITION:  Research Technologist I - Agronomy
LOCATION:  University of Arkansas, Fayetteville
DURATION:  12 months, renewable pending availability of funds
SALARY:    $19,058 per year, University benefits package
AVAILABLE: May 22, 1995, or until suitable candidate is found

DESCRIPTION: Evaluate tall fescue germplasm and elite breeding 
populations for superior performance under grazing.  The effort involves 
seed production and pasture evaluation to complement current efforts in 
microbiology and physiology.

DUTIES:    Establishing, maintaining, harvesting field plots for seed 
production, establishing and managing pastures for screening plants for 
grazing tolerance, establishing and propagating plants in a greenhouse, 
collecting and summarizing agronomic data, analyzing plant materials for 
endophyte, and carrying out and assisting in related trials.

QUALIFICATIONS: At least a BS degree (MS preferred) in agronomy, botany, 
animal science or related agricultural or plant science field.  Knowledge 
of plant science and data management on personal computers is required.  
Must be able to obtain pesticide applicator's license.
