Tim:
You might want to try endophyte-infected seed in Maine to combat the winterkill
problem. The same advantages the endophyte affords tall fescue in drought
tolerance through osmotic adjustment are probably instrumental in protecting
meristems from freeze damage. We are in the process of initiating a trial in
north Missouri to investigate this but would welcome the opportunity to
cooperate with you on a study in a more harsh winter environment.
