ECOLOGIST/RESEARCH AGRONOMIST
The Agricultural Research Service, USDA, University Park, Pennsylvania, has
an opening for a permanent full-time Research Scientist to lead and conduct
research on the formulation, development, and application of pasture
ecological and management concepts and on the determination of the
ecological factors controlling sustained production and utilization of grass
and grass-legume pastures in the Northeastern U.S. The scientist will be a
key member of an interdisciplinary team determining the interactive effects
of plant species, grazing management, environment, and pests on competition
for production inputs such as light, water, and nutrients in pastures.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens, have a degree in biology, ecology, and/or
agronomy, and have knowledge of pasture or grassland ecology and agronomy
with emphasis on humid, temperate climates, and knowledge of the factors
that control the productivity and sustainabililty of grass-based or
grass-legume-based, pasture systems. Salary commensurate with experience,
$50,706 to $70,482 per year (GS-13/14/15). For a copy of the application
