Re: Alsike clover

Alsike clover poisoning of horses has been reviewed by P.N.
          Nation: Can Vet J 32:602-607 and Can Vet J 30:410 - 415.
Another paper is that of Taub et al Mod Vet Pract
63:307-309. Liver damage has been reported: in some cases,
the liver is extremely enlarged, while in others it is small
and fibrotic. Alsike clover poisoning is briefly reviewed in
my book " Natural Toxicants in Feeds and Poisonous Plants ".
I'm now in the final stages of preparing a second edition,
entitled " Natural Toxicants in Feeds, Forages and Poisonous
Plants ". Any current information on any natural toxins
would be appreciated. I'm looking at at target date of June
30 for sending the manuscript to the publisher.
