Re: Compressing hay and silage

List members,

A friend of mine in New Jersey would like to have bales of hay and silage
shipped to her horse farm in winter from Florida. She wants to know if the
bales could be compressed like peat bales so the truck could bring up more
bales. She has both goats and horses and has run out of feed and would like
to find out about getting hay next year. Does anyone know if foragaes like
hay bales can be compressed? Does it affect the quality of the feed? What
kind of equipment is needed? Can anyone help with personal experiences,
leads to equipment, etc.

Thanks...
