POSITION  ANOUNCEMENT

Position:	Senior Research Assistant in Forage Grass Breeding

Location:	The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Inc.
	P.O. Box 2180
	Ardmore, OK   73402

Responsibilities:  The research assistant will provide technical support to
the forage grass breeder in establishing and conducting research leading to
the development of improved perennial forage grass cultivars adapted to the
southern Great Plains.  Duties will include collection of germplasm, field
preparation, plot establishment and maintenance, seed processing, as well as
data collection and management.  Assist with supervision of temporary
employees.  Applicant will be encouraged to conduct independent research or
demonstration projects that support the forage grass breeding effort.
Participate in tours of Noble Foundation farms and facilities.

Qualifications:  M.S. required in Agronomy, Range Science, or closely
related field.  The applicant should have significant experience in field
oriented forage research, basic computer software skills, and knowledge of
experimental design and analysis.   Basic understanding of plant breeding
and genetics, along with expertise in plant pathology, entomology, or plant
physiology as relates to forages considered a plus.  Farm or ranch
experience, as well as greenhouse / growth chamber research skills, desirable.

Salary and Benefits:  $25,000-$31,000+ depending upon qualifications and
experience.  Health and retirement benefits provided. Business related
travel expenses will be provided by the Noble Foundation.  Recreational
access to about 7,000 acres of Noble Foundation land, ponds, and streams.
