Books on Japanese Agriculture

Dear sanet subscribers:

I am looking for a couple of comprehensive books on Japanese agriculture.
There is a NGO, Asian Rural Institute (ARI), in Japan, and they provide
training of community development, organic farming, and leadership for
rural community leaders from various countries in Asia and Africa. They
are looking for books on Japanese agriculture written in English,
especially for foreigners (i.e. ARI participants), which cover social
problems, history, and general practices of farming, etc.

I am currently studying at Davis, California, but leaving for Japan
soon. I am hoping to buy some books here to take home for them. If you
know of such books and ways in which I can get them rapidly or around San
Francisco, please let me know.

They are also looking for a system through which they can get list of new
books on agriculture, nutrition, and development, etc., and order books
through e-mail or fax being paid by a credit card. They are particularly
intereted in the area of agriculture and development.

I would really appreciate your help and information.

Thank you.
