My name is Becca Laughing. I'm writing from the Bryn Mawr College Campus
just outside of Philadelphia.
I found out about CSA's first in Spain, and have been in search of them
ever since, and am pleased to have found this list.
I have a question - I'm working with the Bryn Mawr College Dining Services
to have a significant proportion of their purchasing be organic, probably
starting out with grains and vegetables. They need a supply that is
consistent, that is inspected or whatever would be required to ensure food
safety, and delivered to three locations on the campus regularly, perhaps
weekly. They feed approx. 1200 people, and are interested in increasing
the quality of the food provided by having it be fresh and organic. I'd
like to see them supporting as local a farm as possible.
This could be a really neat opportunity for a CSA who'd like to expand or
have a large, regular customer to support their local market activities.
Is there anyone who's around Philly and potentially interested in working
with the college to this end, or has any suggestions for organizations or
farms which would be?
