Use of Rotenone

In her posting to Ciao Luca, Cristina Carusi mentions that rotenone is toxic
to bees and perhaps amphibians. Jennifer Bokaer-Smith adds huymans, fish,
and earthworms to the list. Several years ago a friend sent me a citation
showing rotenone is a carcinogen. I heard more to this effect just
recently. I have misplaced that citation. Does anyone on the net know of
such information? Also, with all these problems, how much longer will we
continue to see rotenone as an approved pesticide for organic growers?
Thanks.
