Richard(mainly),

I was just cleaning out some of my files from my consulting work and
came across an interesting piece.  It is the literature for the MD DNR
tree inventory program.  STEMS, Street Tree Enumeration and Management
System.  This was/is an older sort of spreadsheet style program.  The
data collected could easily be translated into a relational
data-management program.  

What is nice about the program is that it has already done the work of
figuring out an effective method of locating and indetifying street
trees.  

You might still be able to get copies from the Forestry Servie office at
410-974-3776.  They are in the Tawes St. Office building, which would
give you a good excuse to visit Annapolis on a nice fall day.gr
