 POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

Full- and Part-time Forestry Instructors to teach
Degree courses for the Bachelor of Applied Forest
Resource Management Program
at Grande Prairie Regional College.

This is a four-year Degree Program
and combines classroom and practical
experience. This unique program is
developed to meet Forest Industry
needs for trained professionals in
Forest Resource Management.

One of the positions may include Co-
ordination duties for the Program.
Co-ordination duties will include:
the hiring of instructors;
curriculum development; arranging
work experience for students;
advisory committee meetings; and
promoting and establishing
recognition of the Bachelor of
Applied Forest Resource Management
Program with forestry associations
within Alberta and Canada.

COURSES OF INSTRUCTION:
Depending upon your expertise, one or
more of the following areas:  dendrology,
soils, mensuration and photogrammetry,
plant physiology,  forest
management, forest engineering
principles, forest ecosystem
management, forest policy and
regulation, GIS,
entomology/pathology, and forest
fire management.

Applicants with expertise in forest
management, forest economics, forest
policy and regulation, GIS,
mensuration and photogrammetry, and
forest engineering/harvesting, and
forest fire management are
particularly encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A relevant Master's Degree in
Forestry, teaching experience at the
post-secondary level, and previous
work experience in the Forest
Industry are required.  A Ph.D. in
Forestry is preferred.

Full-time positions will begin
August 15, 1998.  They are renewable
subject to favorable evaluation.
Part-time positions will be as
follows: Fall Semester - September 1
to December 31, 1998; Winter
Semester - January 2 to May 7, 1999.
