I have installed three Energy Kinetics System 2000's here in Maine with
great success. I used two oil tanks in a "remote" lakeside location for
over winter use and found I used very little wood supplemental heat-
although I now use only wood because I am "off the grid" as you folks
say and of course you need a constant power source for the furnace. You
do not need a chimney however. If you are going to burn oil in the
northeast, this is the machine for you. Just make sure you install a
good surge protector for the brain box.
