A couple of years ago, I was driving from Phoenix to
the Grand Canyon, and I stopped overnight at Arcosanti.
They have some neat little whitewashed rooms for rent
and there are tours, meals, hiking in the desert, plus the
famous little metal bells for sale. One of the bells is hanging
on my porch right now, ringing softly in the wind. I highly
recommend at stop there if you are in the Phoenix area.
But probably not in the heat of the summer.
