They make rubber roofing cast to look like slate, made from recycled post
industrial rubber. Product has a 50 year life and weighs approximately the
same as asphalt roofing. The thickness is approx. 3/16 in. at the exposed
end. Colors range from black to all shades of gray. The price ranges from
$240 - $270/ square depending on the slope. For a slope less than 6:12, it
needs 6 in. exposure and 200 tiles a square. For a greater slope, it needs 7
in. exposure at 174 tiles per square.
