Stonehenge

ROLLING HILLS OF SALISBURY - At 4:53 under a hazeless sky the sun sinks below the horizon of Stonehenge, the massive circle of grey stone monoliths erected here in dim prehistoric ages by a now-forgotten people. It is the Winter Solstice, the most significant moment of the year for the Druids, who regard Stonehenge as a temple. It is a bit too cold for the Druids to turn up, though; still about 50 friendly heads have made it and are catching the late afternoon show and lingering about afterwards, silently caught up in their own thoughts and musings about the mystery and meaning of the place.
