Re: Was it Dichlorvos?

Dichlorvos is a neurotoxin with a high vapor pressure. It outgases
readily from pest strips and even flea collars. It can cause several
forms of anemia in children when left indoors in enclosed rooms - i.e.
pest strips - even at parts per trillion levels. It can kill pets from
either neurotoxic effect or from carcinogenic action. When sprayed
indoors, it does not break down readily because there is no sunlight
derived UV to aid the reaction. In short there are a whole host of
reasons for banning it, but it has only been banned from certain uses.
Dichlorvos is still available in almost 150 formulations in the US
today.
