Dear William,

*An Agricultural Testament*, in my estimation, is a blueprint of how ag
research should be conducted, what concerns should be addressed, and how (in
the holistic manner that Howard advocates). I'm curious as to what sort of
impact Howard's book had at the time it was published, if any. It is obvious
that his perceptions have been generally ignored in modern agricultural
research, which still tends toward specialization. His emphasis on
mycorrhizal associations I found particularly forward-looking, and is an
important factor that is still largely overlooked in crop production research.

I would love to have my own copy of the book--does anyone know how to obtain
one? It's been out-of-print for a long time, and I understand that Rodale
published a reprint but I'm afraid it may be out-of-print, too.

Thanks for bringing up such a wonderful resource.

Jane
