          VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

          FORESTRY INSTRUCTORS

The Department of Science and Technology
Grande Prairie Regional College
Grande Prairie, Alberta
Canada

Full- and part-time instructors are required
to teach Degree courses for the Bachelor of
Applied Forest Resources Management program.
Courses of instruction will be dependent upon
the area of expertise; course offerings are
as follows: dendrology, soils, wood
technology and utilization, mensuration and
photogrammetry, plant physiology, forest
management, forest engineering principles,
forest ecosystem management, forest policy
and regulation, GIS, forest
entomology/pathology, and forest fire
management.

One of the positions may include Coordination
duties for the program; this will be
dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Coordination duties will include the hiring
of instructors, curriculum development,
arranging work experience for students,
advisory committee meetings, and promoting
and establishing recognition of the Forest
Resources Management Program with forestry
associations within Alberta and Canada.

A Master's Degree in Forestry and work
experience in the Forest Industry are
required. A Ph.D. in Forestry and post-
secondary teaching experience are preferred.

Full-time positions will begin August 15,
1997, and end May 15, 1998; they are
renewable subject to favourable evaluation.
Part-time positions will be as follows:
Fall semester--September 1 - December 31,
1997; Winter semester--January 2 - April
30, 1998.
