Re: TT: osage orange

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------
While on the subject of Osage orange, has anybody out there seen or
grown any of the new "thornless" cultivars? One of my favorite mail
order suppliers (Arborvillage in Holt, Missouri) offers one which was
apparently developed in Oklahoma. I've got a spot on my hillside where
the "soil" consists of chert with a little red clay mixed in and I was
thinking that Pomifera maclura might be an ideal candidate.
